interlude: on houses and homes
Now and then I call your name and suddenly your face appears.
But it's just a crazy game and when it ends, it ends in tears.
I think Podi said it best. After listening to Kurt Hummel sing A House Is Not A Home, I felt like someone just stabbed me right in the chest and pushed down real hard*.
And just like that, I remembered someone I had to say goodbye to.

ReplyDelete@Jepoy: Bad ka! haha I wasn't sad because of the whole Finn angle. It was more of sa side nung dad. Kaya nga pinili ko tong picture na to. When he was outside looking in on yung dad niya watching basketball with Finn. super sad.

ReplyDeleteit wasn't na naka-relate ako per se. i mean, wala naman akong single parent drama. haha i guess it just ran a parallel course sa utak ko about some issues i've been having lately- the same one that made me go on hiatus and all that.

ReplyDelete@Nimrod: There are times when I don't like his voice. Like his part in Like A Prayer. But this performance really hit a spot.
I just saw this episode awhile ago. He sang it very well. & that facial expression just makes me want to cry. I think he sang Defying Gravity very well in season 1, too :) I wanted him to finish that solo with flare.
ReplyDeletei have been trying to come up with something that seemed to be more on point, and after a day, i can't so this is it: the song reminded me of the "homeless" advocates in various post-industrial countries trying to re-frame the narrative on "homelessness" as "its not homeless, it's houseless." yeah, i know, completely irrelevant. alas, i did hold off and try but to no use. back to my tent on the beach.

ReplyDelete@Tricia: I doubt if Kurt will ever show such strong emotions while he sings. I just don't think that's the kind of performer he is. Which is why when was crying in one of the last scenes, it made his tears more powerful.

@LOF: I think it's still very on point. You know you can do no wrong in my mind, right? Haha I suppose the concept of "home" vs "house" has nothing to do with physical structures. I wonder if in the end, everyone finds their homes.

i used to just get from thepiratebay.org. because of the comments, i knew which seeds were good and stuff. but ever since i couldn't watch idol and glee because of work, i've been getting torrents from eztv.it. mabilis sila mag-upload so i can queue it before i leave the house. hope this helps.
